How to clone a Jira ticket?

Here is a quick guide on how to create a clone of a work item within the same project:

1. Navigate to the work item you want to clone.
2. Click on the three-dot (...) button in the right top corner.
3. Select Clone and update summary if needed, add an assignee and a reporter.

Please note:

• Cloning allows you to copy work item details like Summary and Description. But some information isn’t cloned automatically (attachments, subtasks, links, custom fields, comments).
• Cloned work items are a separate entity but still they stay linked with the original item until you unlink them.
• If you use Jira automation rules, you can set a work item to clone automatically.
