Here's a step-by-step guide on how to create a filter in Jira:

  1. You can reach basic filters in any tab in Jira. For example, the board view allows you to filter data by assignee, parent, work type, label, status, and priority.
  2. In the left-side panel, you can find the general filters applicable to all data.
  3. Choose the pre-prepared options and click View all filters to set them on your own.
  4. Here you can filter by owner, group, or project. Or click Create filter to create it from scratch.
  5. You can switch between the Basic and JQL modes.
  6. In the Basic mode you can filter data by project, assignee, type, status, and more.
  7. JQL filters allow you to type a query of your own.
  8. Save your filtering and share data with other or export it.
